Community Core Values

Community Core Values

Our core values are the heart of the RMS community.  They are the basis of our expectations for student behavior and our guide in building a community of respect and excellence.  Our values are the 6 P's: Prompt, Prepared, Polite, P.M.A. (positive mental attitude), Participate, and Produce.

You may have heard your child mention the 6 P's or using his or her attending skills.  At RMS we have integrated the Discovery Program into our curriculum.  This program uses common language and behavior expectations to support RMS students academically and socially.

In addition to the 6 P's, students are expected to demonstrate their attending skills during class. Students will utilize the follow skills to successfully attend during classes:

  • Being in the moment
  • Appropriate body language
  • Appropriate eye contact
  • Appropriate feedback
  • Questions to clarify or validate.
