Hello! My name is Taryn Geroche, and this is my third year teaching math at RMS. My husband and I moved to Rawlins from Fort Collins, CO, where I graduated from Colorado State University. My hobbies include singing, skiing, knitting and crocheting, and cuddling my kitties!
6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in my classes can find resources, including our weekly lesson plans, in the links in the sidebar. I am excited to work with 6th and 7th graders on their grade-level math standards. I am also incredibly excited to be teaching Geometry for advanced 8th grade students to prepare them for upper level high school math classes.
Students can find their grades for math on Infinite Campus. You may see less grades being posted than you are used to - our aim this year is to spend more focused time on good practice and feedback, and less time on grading. After sufficient practice on each standard, students will take a summative assessment relating to that standard, and their grades on these assessments is what will determine their math grade.
I believe that every student can be successful in math class, if they are willing to work hard and ask for help when they need it. It is our policy to offer intervention and retakes on assignments and tests in order to achieve this. Any student who is in need of extra assistance is encouraged to arrive to school early for Colt Learning Lab (CLL), any day Monday - Thursday from 7:55am - 8:25am.
The best way to reach me is via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not hesitate to contact me, I would love to start a conversation with you. I'm looking forward to a great year at RMS!
