Welcome To Fundamental Skills
We want to first thank you for allowing us to teach your student(s) this school year. My name is Ryan Puckett and I will be your student(s) Fundamental Skills teacher. In Fundamental Skills your student(s) will learn vital skills that can be incorporated in various classes along with their lives outside of the educational setting. Not only will students be learning skills that carry over into various classes and home; they will be given time to have work completion and extra help to finish assignments in their other classes. The skills that are taught in the Fundamental Skills class are gathered from various curriculum's such as Second Step and collaborations from teachers and administrators from our own and other school districts that have produced true results. Fundamental skills follows the Second Step curriculum and will allow your student to not only work as an individual thinker but as a collaborative thinker that understands others points of view and values others opinions. Alongside your student going through the Second Step curriculum your student will be meeting a variety of people and learning their professions, volunteering time that will benefit others, learning new skills that they will be able to keep for the rest of their lives, and understanding how to set and achieve goals to become the best individual they can be. Fundamental Skills will benefit your student greatly from the specific learning that will be had within this particular class. It is to be noted that students will have high expectations and standards set in place. By having these high expectations set by your student, yourself, and teachers we will need to be consistent with the plan for your student. Your student will have highs and lows throughout the expectations that are being set and held to your student but this is all a part of the process. We (student, teacher(s), parent(s)/guardian(s)) will be required to be frequently communicating throughout each trimester to ensure your student will achieve success! Thank you for taking the time to read and review my page and we look forward to teaching your student(s) and working with you this school year!
