Community Core Values

Community Core Values

Our core values are the heart of the RMS community.  They are the basis of our expectations for student behavior and our guide in building a community of respect and excellence.  Our values are the 6 P's: Prompt, Prepared, Polite, P.M.A. (positive mental attitude), Participate, and Produce.

You may have heard your child mention the 6 P's or using his or her attending skills.  At RMS we have integrated the Discovery Program into our curriculum.  This program uses common language and behavior expectations to support RMS students academically and socially.

In addition to the 6 P's, students are expected to demonstrate their attending skills during class. Students will utilize the follow skills to successfully attend during classes:
  • Being in the moment
  • Appropriate body language
  • Appropriate eye contact
  • Appropriate feedback
  • Questions to clarify or validate.

RMS Student Handbook

The RMS student handbook is updated for each school year and approved by the CCSD #1 Board of Trustees.  In the handbook you will find specific information on school policies and procedures as well as several applicable Board policies.  Parents/guardians and students must sign and return the acknowledgement of receipt of of handbook page each year.

The back portion of the RMS handbook also serves as a planner and hall pass.  The planner portion is a useful way for parents to keep track of what their students are doing in school each day and to monitor assignment completion.   A link to the 2016-2017 handbook is below.
